Today, the demand for lights are at an all-time high. We don’t really think about it, but lights are used by professionals and end users all over the world. Surgeons use lights when they operate on their patients. Airports employ runway lights to help planes land. Our highways are illuminated by streetlamps, to help us see better when we drive. Lights have become so ingrained in our daily lives, we simply can’t imagine living without lights. With technological improvements and introduction of mass produced energy saving Light Emitting Diodes or LEDs, lights that was once reserved for industrial purposes has now become a luxury that everyone can afford. We can set the mood in our homes with fancy decorative lights, and photographers or filmmakers can practice their craft with affordable LED panels. Hotels can even have lights made to order, to fit the exact aesthetic of their look.
LED lights work a little differently from regular lamps and bulbs in the sense that it uses a mixture of red, green and blue LEDs to produce white light. A single LED chip is also slightly smaller than 1cm, so plenty of little LED chips are used to create a light source. They also emit light in a tight cone, which is useful because this eliminates the need for reflectors to trap light, cutting down cost even further. The manufacturers just have to build light fittings with a diffuser to suit the needs of those that prefers a bigger light spread. Another benefit of LEDs that most people enjoy is their production of heat, or lack of it – compared to regular lightbulbs (which can easily bring up the temperature of a room) LEDs produce little to no heat at all.
LED lights doesn’t come without its drawbacks; they are notoriously difficult to install. If a component of the light is damaged, you’ll have to remove the entire fitting, damaging your ceiling in the process just to get a minor part changed. Also, if a particular design is no longer in production, you’ll have no choice but to change the entire set of lights in your home or to live with one odd light, ruining the interiors of your home. This is where Lumicca comes in. Having faced all these problems before, the designers at Lumicca have come up with the Harp Signature Series, a high performance LED light model with a unique twist and lock mechanism that is user friendly, easy to install and hassle free.
